Cambrils has nine kilometers of beaches on which to relax and appreciate the fabulous Mediterranean climate. You can also take advantage of the seafront promenade to enjoy the tranquility and views of the Cambrils coastline, either on foot or by bike on the cycle track.

This seafront promenade and its surrounding streets, the port quarter and the narrow, atmospheric alleyways of the old town are where you’ll find the main shopping areas. From small family-run establishments with a homely atmosphere to large hotels, first-class apartments, and campsites where you can enjoy the sun and natural surroundings. Cambrils has a total of 75,000 beds, distributed as follows: 5,000 in hotels, 10,000 in campsites, and 60,000 in villas and apartments. The nightlife of Cambrils depends on your preference. Already inhabited in Roman times, the written history begins in 1154 Ad. In 1229, the men of the town participated in the great expedition to reconquer Mallorca from the Moors which started off in Salou with the king Jaime I. In the mid-17th century Cambrils was a walled town and a fortified site of some importance. Unfortunately there is not much left of these walls but there is still much to see in the Cambrils. Today the population of the town is about 23.531 which of course is a lot more in the summer months.

Cambrils está situado en pleno corazón de la Costa Dorada. Las cortas distancias con poblaciones de gran interés como la Tarragona romana, el Reus modernista, Salou, La Pineda, el Priorat o las rutas del Cister, convierten Cambrils en principio y fin de variadas rutas para conocer de cerca una rica oferta complementaria. La proximidad al parque temático Port Aventura, a sólo 10 km, es otro de nuestros principales atractivos.

Paseando por el casco antiguo, todavía puedes ver restos de la muralla de la cual aun se conservan una de los cinco torres, el portal de la calle mayor, la Ermita de la Mare de Déu del Camí, la plaza de España, la iglesia de Santa Maria de Cambrils y los museos Molí de les Tres Eres y la Cooperativa Agrícola. Desde el casco antiguo es fácil llegar al puerto del pueblo donde puedes contemplar la llegada a puerto de los barcos pesqueros y la peculiar subasta del pescado.

Es aquí donde encontrarás las callejeras al lado del Paseo Miramar donde puedes pasear por las tiendas exclusivas y originales, comer en uno de los restaurantes famosos que ofrece Cambrils ó simplemente tomar un helado en una terraza.

Cambrils, het gezellige en authentieke vissersdorp, staat bekend om de relaxte sfeer die het leven van vissers met zich meebrengt. Die rustige sfeer wordt elke werkdag rond 17.00 uur ruw onderbroken door de visafslag in de haven. Bekend in de verre omgeving vanwege de kwalitatief goede vis die hier verkocht wordt, dat blijkt wel uit het feit dat niet alleen de dorpsbewoners zelf hierheen komen maar ook restauranteigenaars uit de wijde omtrek.

Cambrils strekt zich uit van de grens met Salou, nabij Camping Sanguli, tot de stranden van Miami Platja, een kustlijn van meer dan 9 km lang met uiteraard diverse stranden van fijn goudgeel zand. Buiten de stranden is Cambrils bekend vanwege de goede visrestaurants die hier in de haven liggen. Daarnaast kan men goed winkelen in de smalle straten van het dorp, in zowel Port de Pescadors alsook el Casco Antiguo, verder het binnenland in gelegen. Daar in het oude dorp vindt elke woensdag de druk bezochte wekelijkse markt plaats. Hier kun je ook gezellig op een terras gaan zitten en het leven aan je voorbij laten gaan.

Recentelijk is de boulevard van Cambrils compleet vernieuwd wat tot gevolg heeft dat er meer toeristen naar Cambrils komen, zowel binnenlands als buitenlands. De gemeente Cambrils bestaat uit diverse wijken, elk met zijn eigen Karakter. Vilafortuny is de wijk gelegen tegen Salou aan en was vroeger een zelfstandig dorp. Jaren geleden is het echter bij de gemeente Cambrils gevoegd en dat leidde tot de ontwikkeling van de huidige villawijk. La Llosa is een wijk waar nog Romeinse overblijfselen te vinden zijn. De andere wijken zijn El Dorada Playa, Mar Cambrils, La Dorada, Tarraco en Cambrils Mediterrania. De laatste jaren komen er steeds meer buitenlanders wonen in deze wijken zowel permanent alsook voor de vakantiemaanden. Nu telt Cambrils 21.000 inwoners maar dit aantal stijgt snel. Dankzij het feit dat er in Cambrils niet veel grote hotels zijn, ontbreekt het hier nog aan de drukte die men wel vaak aantreft in andere kustplaatsen.

Naast dat je Cambrils kunt bereiken met de bus, trein of boot, is een leuk alternatief om te lopen of te fietsen over de wandelpromenade of naastgelegen fietspad. Deze alternatieve routes strekken zich helemaal uit van Salou tot aan het einde van Cambrils, soms langs de drukke kustweg maar vaker achter de Hotels langs, direct langs het strand, die overigens vaak veel rustiger zijn dan de stranden in bijvoorbeeld Salou.

In de nabijheid van Cambrils vindt je de botanische tuin Parc Sama wat zeker een bezoekje waard is.
